A lovely, small decorative ceramic heart made from stoneware clay, glazed on the front in blue and measuring 11cm x 11 cm. They feature a flower/bee/honeycomb design and no two are the same. They have two holes for attaching. These are decorative hearts, for your window, or hanging from a tree etc. They are a bit small and fragile for “marking” your wild garden.
Susie Heckles has a small ceramics studio in the village of Glen Maye, situated in an ancient forested glen on the Isle of Man. The Isle of Man was recently awarded UNESCO status as a world biosphere region and the conservation of biodiversity is very important to the Manx people.
Susie read about the Blue Heart Campaign on Facebook and was immediately captivated and inspired by the campaign message. She realised that the ‘little by little’ approach of the campaign, not only made the possibility of positive environmental change a very exciting reality; it also fitted in very nicely with the UNESCO initiative.
She and her husband designated an area of their garden to be left to grow wild and Susie headed to her studio to design a ceramic ‘Blue heart’.
These Blue Hearts are now available to purchase from the Blue campaign shop. Like Al’s wooden blue hearts, all profits from their sale goes to help fund the BLUE Campaign, helping to pay for all costs involved with getting the campaign out to more people. For further information Susie’s website is susiehecklesceramics.com.
Ceramic hearts are sent direct from Susie’s workshop. Postage and packaging included in the price for the ceramic hearts. Please get in touch for orders outside the UK.
Susie will keep a small stock of blue hearts available, however there could be a lead time of up to three weeks.
